Alain Bouche´s paintings are not selling as years before, and the luxury and comfort he was used to gave way to financial shortages. As an extreme resort to face the accumulating debts and an imminent auction sale of his house, Alain decides to follow a plan drawn up by his lawyer and close friend Henri: it is well known that some works of art become highly valued once the artist passes away... so Alain pretends his own death to increase the value of his paintings.
But what started as a simple deception became more and more complicated when Alain´s paintings get destroyed after a fire, and he is forced to remain hidden in Morocco to make some new paintings.
Solitude, pressure, and the fear of being deceived by his own friend, in addition with the new experiences, awoke in him a moral and artistic awareness that demanded the starting of a new life.
But fate had its own plans...
