Dreamlife is a film about people.

About three stories connected in spite of their differences. About the reaching of a crossroad in life which forces these three different souls to assume responsibility for their lives. To take chances. To make decisions... Is it worth to fight for dreams? or is it better to leave them behind?

Humor and drama merge together in this film, exposing us to metaphors and symbolism with powerful narrative elements that reflect on life itself. Life is full of choices. Some will seal our destiny, but won't necessarily lead us to the life we dream of.

Hope drives our lives...

CLAIRE

The need to survive in the Big City and the challenge of achieving economic prosperity have undermined Javier's will, and have become the best excuses for turning his back on his dreams. He is permamently expecting for things that will never come. Things he is not really looking for.

His wife Claire feels his attitude is threatening their relationship, and tries to save it by planning a trip in which she thinks they will find themselves.

Her desire for motherhood is adjourned by her husband´s inertia and she realizes her dreams are dissolving into an asphyxiating routine that will soon extinguish the strength and the will she still has left.

Claire reaches a point in which she has no choice but to decide between saving her marriage... or saving herself.

ANTHONY

Anthony has shut himself off from crucial episodes in his life, immersed in an involuntary solitude which he pretends not to notice. He refuses to acknowledge the passage of time by turning his life into a dark, irrelevant routine.

His sister's arrival in town, just as their father is about to undergo a risky operation, stirs up stories from the past, bringing light to things he never wanted to see. He slowly realizes that all the life he has been trying to bury is still there waiting for him to deal with.... and despite the years he has wasted, the dreams he ignored for so long can still be fulfilled.

THREE stories, one life...

To achieve a film look, the scene was shot at 24 fps with a reflex optics adapter (SGPro)

THOMAS

Thomas lives with his family in an idyllic spot, far away from the Big City. Yet he is not satisfied with his life and his flair for drawing, together with his tender age, have created a world of fantasy which only limits are the sky... and the main road.

This road, which Thomas never dared to cross, separates him from an unknown world that awakens in him an unexpected unease. He discovers the beauty of art and pursues an artistic career, against the will of his father, who will try to bring him down to earth by loading Thomas with obligations and responsabilities.

One day, he sees a young girl standing on the other side of the road. She fits perfectly into his dreamy life and struck by her beauty, he decides to follow her. The fear of crossing the road is now merging with the fear of leaving behind life as he knows it. A point of no return...

Thomas will have to make decisions: going after her means more than it seems to be.

This is a test scene that I shot in Argentina. I was trying to find the mood for Anthony´s story.

Rachel, his sister, burst into the darkness of his house, bringing light to some things he didn´t want to see.

Cast: Laura Fererico / Alejandro Gomez
